Sigmund Thun Klamm
During the Late Ice Age, around 14,000 years ago, the Kaprun Valley was covered by a powerful glacier that slowly moved down the valley, eroding the rocks. As the glacier melted, it left behind a narrow gorge at Bürgkogel, the Sigmund-Thun Gorge. Over its 320-meter length, the Kapruner Ache carved into the landscape, creating depths of up to 32 meters and forming distinctive smooth rock surfaces, whirlpools, and deep pools.

Liechtensteinklamm
In terms of length (approximately 1.5 km), depth, wildness, and water abundance, there is no comparison to this gorge in Austria. Let yourself be fascinated by the legendary gorge in St. Johann. The thundering waterfalls and rushing waters have cut deeper into the limestone gorge rock over millions of years. In some places, the rocks stand so close and high that the sky is often only visible as a small strip.
