Grossglockner High Alpine Road

Austria's highest view

A trip on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, the highest and loveliest mountain pass in Austria is quite simply a must see, and one of the absolute highlights in the region. The beauty of the views and the mountains in the Hohe Tauern range is quite simply staggering.

Starting in the centre of the town of Bruck, continue toFusch up to the cash desk area in Ferleiten, where children will usually want to head to the extensive Wildlife and adventure park

From Ferleiten a very well-developed road winds in many twisting bends right up to the top – via Fuscher Törl to the Edelweiß Spitze (the highest point of the road), or via the Hochtor to Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe, at the foot of the Pasterze Glacier. Cars, motorbikes and push bikes gather here, united by a shared enthusiasm for the views, the history of this unique edifice and the well-constructed route which features display boards, information points and exhibits.
